In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful "Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul, unless for a soul, or for corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed humankind entirely" (The Holy Quran, Al-Ma-ida, 5: 32). "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him, and has cursed him, and has prepared for him a great torment" (Al-Nisa, 4: 93). "If you do good, you do good for yourselves; and if you do evil, (you do it) to yourselves" (Al-Isra, 17: 7). *** While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son). After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD. By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD. So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents. No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians. No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since. This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948. The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules. 2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet. 3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel. 4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed. 5. It is more accurate to refer to the land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists. The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies. In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain. 6. It is more accurate to use the verb "abduct" than the verb "detain," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people. A military assault there “would be an unbearable escalation,” he warned, noting that it would result in thousands more civilian deaths and force hundreds of thousands to flee. In his appeal, Guterres stressed the critical need for humanitarian aid, especially in northern Gaza, where a “preventable human-made famine” looms. He urged the international community to do everything possible to “avert an entirely preventable human-made famine.” He also reiterated the necessity for safe, rapid, and unimpeded humanitarian access throughout Gaza, emphasizing, “There is no alternative to the massive use of land routes for aid delivery.” Addressing the health crisis, Guterres pointed out that the war has “decimated” Gaza’s health system, with two-thirds of hospitals and health centers either out of commission or seriously damaged. “Some hospitals now resemble cemeteries,” he remarked, deeply alarmed by reports of mass graves at several locations, including Al-Shifa and Nasser hospitals. On the matter of accountability, Guterres called for independent international forensic investigations to clarify the circumstances surrounding the mass graves. “The families of the dead and missing have a right to know what happened, and the world has a right to accountability for any violations of international law that may have occurred,” he asserted. *** United Nations official warns invading Rafa'h will be “a tragedy beyond words” NEW YORK, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 (WAFA) – An Israeli invasion of the southern blockaded Gaza Strip city of Rafa'h will be “a tragedy beyond words”, the UN’s humanitarian chief Martin Griffiths said in a statement on Tuesday. “The simplest truth is that a ground operation in Rafa'h will be nothing short of a tragedy beyond words. No humanitarian plan can counter that. The rest is detail”, Griffiths said after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to launch an offensive on Rafa'h, which has become a refuge to some 1.5 million Palestinians. He added: “The world has been appealing to the Israeli authorities for weeks to spare Rafa'h, but a ground operation there is on the immediate horizon.” “For the hundreds of thousands of people who have fled to Gaza’s southernmost point to escape disease, famine, mass graves and direct fighting, a ground invasion would spell even more trauma and death.” He warned that “For agencies struggling to provide humanitarian aid despite impassable roads, unexploded ordnance, fuel shortages, delays at checkpoints, and Israeli restrictions, a ground invasion would strike a disastrous blow.” “We are in a race to stave off hunger and death, and we are losing,” he added. K.F. *** MSF: The destruction of Gaza’s health system increases the number of fatalities Tuesday 30-April-2024 GAZA, (PIC) Doctors Without Borders/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) said in a report issued on Tuesday that the destruction of the health system in the Gaza Strip due to the ongoing Israeli genocidal war increases the number of fatalities. The MSF report, entitled Gaza’s Silent Killings, read: “The destruction of the healthcare system and the struggle for survival in Rafa'h, explained that the entire healthcare system in Gaza has been decimated and that men, women and children are at risk of acute malnutrition which leads to rapid deterioration of their physical and mental health.” The report stated, “MSF teams working in the city of Rafa'h, south of the Gaza Strip, pointed out that the destroyed healthcare system and inhumane living conditions increase the risk of epidemics, malnutrition, and long-term psychological trauma.” Sounding the alarm over the deterioration of health condition in the Strip, the report said, “ground offensive on Rafa'h would be unimaginably catastrophic,” calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire. The report mentioned serious difficulties in delivering medical supplies and humanitarian aid to Gaza due to Israeli occupation army’s restrictions and obstacles. The Israeli occupation forces have been continuing its genocidal war on the Gaza Strip despite the UN Security Council’s immediate ceasefire resolution, and in challenge to the International Court of Justice’s ruling demanding Israel to take immediate measures to prevent acts of “genocide” and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza. For 17 years, Israeli occupation forces have been besieging the Gaza Strip. The current Israeli genocidal war, however, pushed about 2 million out of 2.3 million Palestinians residing in Gaza to forced displacement amid catastrophic conditions. *** Senior 'Hamas delegation holds talks in Beijing on the aggression on Gaza Wednesday 1-May-2024 BEIJING, (PIC) The Islamic Resistance Movement, 'Hamas, said that a senior delegation led by Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouq, Head of the International Relations Office of the Movement, met with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Dang Li, in the Chinese capital, Beijing, two days ago. In a statement issued on Tuesday, Hamas said that the delegation included members of the Political Bureau, 'Husam Badran, Fat'hi 'Hammad, Basim Na'eem, and Shareef Abu Shammala, a member of the International Relations Office. The Movement indicated that the delegation held political consultations with Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Li and the ministry’s staff to discuss ways to stop the genocide against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. They also reviewed the efforts made to reach a ceasefire and the tragic humanitarian situation caused by the Israeli occupation army, as well as the possibility of China enhancing its urgent humanitarian assistance. The Hamas delegates appreciated China’s supportive position on the Palestinian issue and its rejection of the genocide against the Palestinian people. They also lauded China’s good efforts to unite the Palestinian ranks and to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the Palestinian people. For his part, Dang Li expressed his country’s firm position on the just Palestinian cause and its continued efforts to stop the inhumane practices against the Palestinian people and achieve a ceasefire in Gaza. He also expressed China’s support for the Palestinian people in all international forums. At the end of the talks, both sides affirmed the continuation of consultations and efforts to achieve Palestinian national unity, as well as China’s readiness to provide whatever is necessary towards that end. *** Pro-Palestinian protests spread at US universities as police crack down RAMALLAH, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 (WAFA) – American police raided the University of South Florida in Tampa in order to disperse a pro-Palestine student sit-in. According to local sources, the police further rounded up at least 10 students during the raid. Local media reported that the police used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the sit-in, coinciding with the continued expansion of the protests to other universities in Florida. Demonstrators arrived at the university campus early morning, while video footage went viral on social media showed many demonstrators using umbrellas or banners to avoid exposure to tear gas fired at them by the police. Clashes also occurred on Wednesday, during pro-Palestinian protests at the University of California, Los Angeles, according to images broadcast by American television stations, while universities across the United States are seeking to contain similar protests. CNN reported that clashes began at dawn between pro-Palestinian groups and pro-Israel protesters. The city's mayor's spokesman, Zach Seidel, said on the X platform that the Los Angeles Police "immediately responded to university authorities' request to provide support on campus." On April 18, students who rejected the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip began a sit-in on the campus of Columbia University in New York, demanding that its administration stop its academic cooperation with Israeli universities and withdraw its investments in companies that support the occupation. The state of anger expanded, with demonstrations extending to dozens of universities in the United States, including leading universities such as Harvard, George Washington, New York, Yale, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and North Carolina. Y.S. *** Euro-Med: Israel deliberately militarizes civilian objects, turns schools into military bases Wednesday 1-May-2024 GENEVA, (PIC) Euro-Med Monitor condemned the Israeli army’s militarization of civilian objects, including turning schools and educational facilities into military bases, in flagrant violation of international law and the rules of war. The Israeli army was not satisfied with the systematic and widespread bombing and massive destruction of schools, committing serious crimes against people who were protected inside, and deliberately targeting them with air and ground military operations, murders, and direct unlawful executions, the Euro-Med said in a statement issued Wednesday. “Instead, it converted a number of schools into military bases, gathering places for its forces and vehicles, detention and interrogation centers, and torture facilities, in violation of international humanitarian law, which was established to protect civilian objects from the danger of military operations, as well as the obligations placed on Israel as the occupying power under the Fourth Geneva Convention, which requires taking the necessary measures to ensure that children, who are orphaned or are separated from their families as a result of a war, exercise their education.” During its field invasion of most of the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army converted a number of schools into military bases and detention facilities. One such facility was the “Salah al-Din Preparatory School” in Gaza City, which in February was used as a detention and interrogation center for hundreds of locals. On April 30, the Israeli journalist Amir Bohbut released a video clip in which he documented an Israeli army military base located inside a Gaza Strip school. A voiceover was played alongside it, saying, “We are in a forward operations base belonging to the 162nd Division in the heart of the Gaza Strip.” He proceeded to display some containers that were positioned in the centre of the schoolyard, which, he said, had been turned into offices and bedrooms, adding: “Raids, ambushes, and other operations will start from here.” A previous video showed Israeli soldiers from the “Givati” battalion filming themselves inside a school while wearing military gear and carrying weapons. The Israeli and battalion flags were flying proudly behind them. Additionally, they have published videos of sniper soldiers firing from inside schools, some of which are UN-run schools. In a report published on December 13, Euro-Med revealed that the Israeli army has turned schools sheltering tens of thousands of displaced people into military centers and field execution sites as part of its ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip, which began on 7 October. Euro-Med Monitor received testimonies at the time about Israeli army forces carrying out unjustified field executions and killings of Palestinian civilians after detaining them for days inside the same schools where they had sought refuge from the violence. The testimonies reveal horrific human rights violations and atrocities against civilians killed after their release. The timing of the murders indicates that there was no reason to shoot them, other than to satisfy the bloody desires of Israeli soldiers or express the comprehensive moral permissibility—in the eyes of Israel’s military—when it comes to slaughtering and humiliating Palestinian civilians. Around 15 dead Palestinians’ decomposed bodies were found in Al-Faloujah neighborhood, west of the Jabalia camp. Based upon its initial investigation, Euro-Med Monitor confirmed that the individuals were subjected to field executions while being questioned by members of the Israeli army at the Shadya Abu Ghazala government school. Last March, about a hundred leading European academics have condemned Israel’s genocide against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, and its physical and cultural liquidation of them, including the systematic destruction of the educational system in the Gaza Strip. *** *** Killing and Injuring of Palestinians in Ghazza (Gaza) by Israeli Occupation Regime ForcesOn May 1, 2024, Dr. Ashraf Al-Qidra, the Spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the Israeli genocidal air strikes and bombardment on Gaza Strip resulted in 4 massacres, which resulted in the killing of 33 Palestinian civilians, and the injury of 57 others, in the past 24 hours. This increased the accounted for death toll in Gaza Strip to 34,568 and the injuries to 77,765, since the start of the Israeli genocidal war on October 7, 2023. *** Medical sources: The death toll in Gaza has climbed to 34,568 since October 7 GAZA, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 (WAFA) – The death toll at the hands of Israel in the Gaza Strip has climbed to 34,568 Palestinians since October 7, according to medical sources. Moreover, at least 7,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip. Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children. The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafa'h near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba. K.F. *** US-backed Israeli genocide in Gaza enters day 208 Wednesday 1-May-2024 GAZA, (PIC) As the US-backed Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip entered day 208 on Wednesday, aerial and artillery strikes continued to pound and target different areas, and massacre more civilians, mostly children and women. A reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that the Israeli occupation army continued to launch attacks across Gaza, killing and injuring multiple citizens. The Israeli warplanes bombed a residential apartment in Tower 6 in Al-Qastal project, east of Dair El-Bala'h, leading to its complete destruction. In Rafah, a young man was martyred after being targeted by an Israeli artillery shell in the Al-Tanour neighborhood. At least one martyr was recovered from the Al-Mughraqa area after Israeli forces bombed a group of citizens. Other victims remained missing under the rubble. Other Palestinians were killed and others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a residential house on Al-Jalaa Street in Gaza City. Two more airstrikes were carried out on western Gaza City and the central Gaza Strip. Late Tuesday, two kids were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a house sheltering displaced families. The Israeli warplanes also targeted a water tank in the Abu 'Halawa area, east of Rafa'h, coinciding with renewed Israeli artillery shelling. Medical sources reported that a woman was injured in an Israeli artillery shelling in the Al-'Husaynat area east of Rafa'h. Meanwhile, the Israeli forces detained two young men after stripping them of their clothes and shooting them while trying to return to the northern Gaza Strip via Salah al-Din Street. They were later taken to the hospital. The Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza managed to recover the bodies of 9 martyrs from the Khan Younus refugee camp, south of the Strip. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society also reported that three Palestinians were killed in an Israeli air raid on a residential apartment in Al-Nusayrat, in the central Gaza Strip. A child was among the reported victims. *** Several Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrike on Gaza GAZA, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 (WAFA) – Several Palestinians were dawn Wednesday killed in an Israeli airstrike on Al-Jalaa Street in the city of Gaza, according to local sources. They confirmed that Israeli warplanes targeted a house on Al-Jalaa Street, killing several Palestinian civilians and injuring others. They added that the operations rescue operations were still underway to recover the bodies from under the rubble of the house. By April 30, 2024, currently on trial before the International Court of Justice for genocide against Palestinians, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 34,535 Palestinians and injuring over 77,704 others. K.F. *** Civilians killed, including children, others injured in Israeli strikes on southern, northern and central Gaza GAZA, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 (WAFA) - Two children were killed and others were injured late Tuesday night in Israeli airstrikes targeting a house in Al-Shaboura refugee camp in central Rafa'h city in the southern Gaza Strip. WAFA correspondent reported that a little boy and his baby sister were killed and several others were wounded in an Israeli shelling that targeted a house in the Shaboura camp. In the last few hours, the occupation warplanes launched a series of raids on areas east and north of Rafa'h. According to medical sources, three civilians, including a child, were killed and others were injured in an Israeli bombardment of an apartment in Al-Nusayrat refugee camp in the central Strip. The occupation fighter aircraft also bombed a house in Dair El-Bala'h city, in central Gaza. The occupation aerial forces also shelled residential blocks in the Al-Mughraqa area of central Gaza. Sources said that rescue teams recovered nine bodies from the Khan Younus camp in the southern Strip, noting that search, rescue and recovery operations are still ongoing in the camp. According to data, more than 10 thousand civilians are still missing since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza on October 7, 2023, noting that most of the missing persons are still trapped under the rubble as rescue teams continue to face enormous risks and challenges to reach them. Three civilians were also wounded in an Israeli artillery shelling of Mansoura Street in Al-Shuja'iyya neighborhood to the east of Gaza City. Israeli warplanes also launched air raids targeting the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City and the town of Bait Lahya in the northern Strip. By April 30, 2024, preliminary data on the number of casualties documented since the start of the Israeli aggression on Gaza indicate that 34535 people were killed, most of whom were children and women, and 77704 others were injured. T.R. *** *** Killing, Injuring, and Abduction of Palestinians in the West Bank by Israeli Occupation Regime Forces ý *** PGFTU chief: Occupation army killed 25 workers since the beginning of 2024 RAMALLAH, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation army has killed 25 Palestinian workers since the beginning of 2024, according to Shahir Sa'eed, the Secretary-General of the Palestinian General Federation of Trade Unions (PGFTU). Speaking to Palestine radio, Sa'eed said that the occupation army has killed 25 Palestinian workers since the start of 2024, targeting them with live ammunition, tear gas canisters or beating them. He added that the occupation army has detained 5,100 Palestinian workers, mostly construction workers, from the West Bank and the Gaza Strip since the start of 2024, and subjected them to interrogation. K.F. *** IOFs carry out violent raid, arrest campaign across the West Bank Wednesday 1-May-2024 WEST BANK, (PIC) The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) launched a large-scale raid and arrest campaign across the West Bank at dawn Wednesday. During the raids, the IOFs detained a Palestinian young man in Ramallah and two others in Qalqilya after brutally storming and searching their family houses. Two more Palestinians, aged 18 and 16, were rounded up in Bethlehem, which led to the outbreak of violent clashes. In al-Khalil, the IOF stormed the citizen Bassam Nawaj'a’s family house in Yatta town and detained all the family members in one single room before brutally beating him. The man was later taken to the hospital for treatment. Similar raids were carried out in Umm Al-Khair and Khallet towns andAal-Fawar refugee camp, where six Palestinians were detained. In Nablus, a Palestinian young man was detained while another was injured after the IOFs troops violently broke into Duma town. Two more Palestinians were reportedly arrested in Al-Quds (occupied Jerusalem) and Aree'ha (Jericho). Late Tuesday, violent clashes erupted in different areas of the occupied West Bank. The PIC reporter affirmed that clashes broke out when the IOFs stormed Sa’ir town, northeast of al-Khalil, amid heavy gunfire. No injuries were reported. Also in Al-Khaleel (Hebron), a group of settlers stormed the archaeological site of Tel Ma’in in Yatta town and performed Talmudic rituals. In the northern West Bank, confrontations broke out in Baita town, south of Nablus, after it was stormed by Israeli troops amid a heavy fire of teargas bombs. *** Israeli occupation apartheid regime forces detain 26 Palestinians in the West Bank raids RAMALLAH, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation apartheid regime forces dawn Wednesday detained at least 26 Palestinians in multiple raids across the occupied West Bank, according to security sources and the Prisoners’ Affairs Commission (PAC). The raids involved brutal beatings of detainees, threats against their families and large-scale destruction of Palestinian houses. PAC said that the occupation forces have detained scores of Palestinian workers purportedly for entering the 1948 Territories, but their number could not be determined accurately. It added that over 8,535 Palestinians have been detained since October 7 from their houses and at checkpoints. Such detainees also include those who were forced to turn themselves in and those held as hostages. As part of the raids, the occupation forces rounded up a Palestinian from the Al-eerih city neighborhood of Al-Sharayit and searched his family house, turning it topsy-turvy. They also rounded up a resident of the Kafr Malik village, east of Ramallah, after stopping him at the entrance of the village. In the southern West Bank, the occupation forces detained two Palestinians, including a 16-year-old teen, after storming their family house in the Duhaisha refugee camp, south of the city of Bethlehem. During ensuing confrontations, the gun-toting soldiers fired live ammunition, tear gas canisters and concussion grenades, but without resulting in any casualty. Also in the southern West Bank, the heavily-armed soldiers detained six residents of Al-Fawwar refugee camp, south of Al-Khaleel (Hebron). The Israeli occupation army barged their way into the Khallet Al-Farra area, west of Yatta, and stormed the house of Bassam Nawaj'a. Soldiers broke into the house, assaulted Bassam, conducted a thorough search, and interrogated family members. The young man sustained various injuries and bruises and was transported to a hospital for treatment. In the northern West Bank, a convoy of army vehicles stormed the city of Qalqilya, where the soldiers rounded up two others, and searched the houses of their families, turning them upside down. In the district of Tubas, Kamal Bani-'Oda, Director of the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS), confirmed that the occupation soldiers manning the intermittently staffed al-Hamra checkpoint near Jericho stopped and detained a resident of the Fari’a refugee camp. In the Aree'ha (Jericho) district, the heavily armed soldiers showed up at several houses belonging to ‘Alaa Abu Dahouk’s family, muscled inside, conducted thorough searches, detained a family member and destroyed a family’s vehicle. The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents. These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers. Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised. According to the latest figures from Al-Dhameer, the Palestinian Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, there are currently 9,500 Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli prisons and detention centers, including 200 child prisoners and 80 female prisoners. This number includes approximately 3,660 Palestinians placed under “administrative detention”, which allows the detention of Palestinians without charge or trial for renewable intervals ranging between three and six months based on undisclosed evidence that even a detainee’s lawyer is barred from viewing. The mass arrest of Palestinians is nothing new. According to a 2017 report by Al-Dhameer, over the past 50 years, more than 800,000 Palestinians have been imprisoned or detained by Israel, this figure is now believed to be closer to 1 million. This means that about 40% of Palestinian men and boys living under military occupation have been deprived of their freedom. Almost every Palestinian family has suffered the imprisonment of a loved one. *** *** Aggression and Attacks by Illegal Israeli Settlers and Soldiers
Israeli occupation demolishes Palestinian house in southern West Bank Al-Khaleel (Hebron), Wednesday, May 1, 2024 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation apartheid regime today demolished a Palestinian house in the Bireen village, east of Hebron, in the southern occupied West Bank, according to a local official. Fareed Burqan, Head of Bireen Village Council, said that the occupation forces stormed Khirbet Khallet Al-Farran, which forms a part of the village, and tore down a 200-square-meter house belonging to 'Hamza Zain, rendering Zain and his family homeless. The occupation forces, Burqan added, also destroyed a water well, retaining walls and a fence, and razed a 1.5-dunum plot of land planted with fruit trees. He pointed that assaults committed by the Israeli occupation forces in the village were intended to displace the indigenous Palestinians and make room for the expansion of the nearby colony of Bani Haiver. The Villagers said that they continue to suffer incessant Israeli attacks despite that they possess title deeds for land ownership. According to the Land Research Center, the occupation authorities have frequently issued military stop-construction and demolition orders against various residential and agricultural structures and dismantled barns in the locality, citing the lack of rarely-issued construction permits as a pretext. In December 2017, Israel delivered stop-construction orders to the locality’s sole clinic and building intended to serve as a primary school for the community’s 60 children In June 2019, as showed in a PLO’s Negotiations Affairs Department’s report, Israel seized 4,800 dunams of land from several localities, including Birin, for the expansion of Bani Haiver. Located to the southwest of Bani Na‘eem, Bireen has a population of 160 and is flanked by Bani Haiver colonial settlement from the east and the settler-only bypass Road No. 60 from the west. Its residents were originally expelled from Al-Naqab in southern Israel and now depend on agriculture and livestock as their main source of livelihood.
